Recall campaign check for your truck.

Enter a VIN. We'll decode the vehicle and show every safety recall campaign NHTSA has on file for that year, make and model — including do-not-drive warnings. Free, no sign-up, and we don't keep your VIN.

Check a VIN

You'll find it on the driver's door jamb sticker, in the lower-left corner of the windshield, or on your registration.

Providing a VIN is voluntary. The VIN you enter is sent to NHTSA's federal database to run the lookup and is then discarded — we don't store it, log it, or send it to our analytics.

What this tool does

Enter a VIN and we'll decode the vehicle, then show you every safety recall campaign NHTSA has on file for that year, make and model.

What it cannot do: tell you whether a recall was already performed on your specific truck. That information isn't published by NHTSA or by any manufacturer in a form a website can look up — the federal recall system only tracks recalls that have not been completed, and only the manufacturer or a franchised dealer can confirm what's open on your VIN.

Use this to find out what campaigns exist for your truck. Use NHTSA's own VIN search, linked with every result, to confirm what's still open on it.

While The Truck Is Down

The dealer does the recall. We do the rest.

A recall campaign is free work at a franchised dealer, and we'll tell you straight when that's where your truck should go. What we handle is everything around it — on the Space Coast, at your yard.

  • Down where it sits? We come to the truck so it can make the trip
  • Diagnosis of what's actually wrong, which is often not the recall
  • The known factory failures the dealer won't fix at a flat price — CP4, grid heater, LML CP3, 68RFE
  • Pre-purchase inspection before you buy a used truck
  • Running a fleet? Send us your truck list and we'll screen every VIN
Questions

About recalls, answered straight.

Can you tell me if my recall was already done?

No, and neither can any other website. The federal recall system only publishes recalls that have not been completed — there is no "completed" record to look up.

Even NHTSA's own VIN search shows you open recalls only, and a result of zero can mean the work was done, or that the campaign is too new, or over 15 years old, or that your manufacturer isn't covered. The only way to know for certain is to call a franchised dealer with your VIN. We'll happily tell you which dealer to call.

Will you perform the recall for me?

No. Recall repairs are performed free of charge by franchised dealers, and independent shops like ours aren't authorised to do them or bill for them.

What we do is everything around it — diagnose what's actually wrong with your truck, handle the work the dealer won't, and get a down unit road-ready so it can make the trip.

Why doesn't my trailer or my Class 8 tractor come up?

Because federal recall databases barely cover them. The rule that forces manufacturers to publish per-VIN recall lookups only applies to vehicles rated 10,000 lb GVWR and under, and specifically excludes trailers and buses. A Super Duty is already over that line.

Campaign-level records do exist for a lot of heavy equipment — a 2020 Cascadia has 21 campaigns on file — but VIN-level coverage does not. Call us with the unit and we'll work through it.

Do you keep my VIN?

No. It goes to NHTSA to run the lookup and is discarded. It isn't written to a database, a log file, or our analytics.

If you choose to send us your results through the contact form, that's your click and then it's a normal service record.

What does "status unknown" mean on each campaign?

It means exactly what it says: this campaign was filed against your year, make and model, and we have no way to know whether it applies to your individual truck or whether the work was already done.

Campaigns often cover only certain build-date ranges, cab configurations or engines. Confirm yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a dealer.

About this tool — please read

Recall information on this page is provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA.gov). X-Pert Fleet Solutions is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of NHTSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or any vehicle manufacturer.

This tool searches by year, make and model. It does not determine whether a recall applies to any specific vehicle, and it does not determine whether a recall remedy has been completed on any specific vehicle. Results are informational only. They are not an inspection, and they are not a determination that any vehicle is safe or unsafe to operate.

NHTSA makes no guarantees about the accuracy or completeness of its data and expressly disclaims liability for errors and omissions. Neither do we. NHTSA's records do not include: a safety recall that has already been repaired; recently announced recalls for which not all VINs have been identified; safety recalls more than 15 years old; recalls conducted by small vehicle manufacturers, including some ultra-luxury brands and specialty applications; manufacturer customer-service or other non-safety campaigns; and recalls involving international vehicles. Coverage is also thin for vehicles over 10,000 lb GVWR and for trailers, which fall outside the federal rule that requires manufacturers to publish per-VIN recall lookups.

Do not rely on this tool as your only check. Only the vehicle's manufacturer or an authorised dealer can confirm whether a recall remains open on a given VIN and perform the free remedy.

All manufacturer names and model names are the property of their respective owners. X-Pert Fleet Solutions is an independent repair facility and is not affiliated with, authorised by, or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer.
